Manufacturing of custom Carbide Tipped Saw Blades
With a high variety of materials used in industry today. As well as
the number of different machine manufacturers out there. It is not
uncommon for our customers to request a custom carbide tipped saw
blade to meet there specific sawing application. Unlike some other
shops we have all the needed resources to manufacture custom
carbide tipped saw blades in house. This allows us to maintain the
highest quality product from start to finish by having several quality
control checks throughout the manufacturing process. As well as
shorter lead times so you get the job done on time.
All of our saw blades start with the highest quality German steels.
Sizes range from 2" to 36" in diameter. We inspect the plate for any
defects in finish, straightness, tension, and run out before we begin
the manufacturing. We then select the proper grade of carbide to
suite your specific sawing application. The carbide tips are then
brazed to the steel body using high strength silver alloys. Then the
saw is sand blasted and polished. We then check the saw again for
proper tension and straightness to make sure the heating of the saw
during brazing did not compromise the integrity of the steel. This is
especially important on thin kerf saws. Next all the teeth are ground
on our CNC grinders to exacting geometry specifically designed for
the material being cut. After grinding all blades are given a serial
number that is etched into the plate so when the saw returns for
service we have all the information saved in the computer to
recondition the saw back to original geometry and tolerances. All
saw blades are given a final inspection and then cleaned, polished,
lightly oiled and the teeth are coated in a wax compound for
protection during shipping.
